Modern IT infrastructures require more than classic system administration: We are looking for a technically skilled infrastructure engineer who designs complex platforms, develops cloud architectures, and independently drives demanding transformation projects. A position for specialists who want to take the next step in virtualisation, hybrid cloud, and data centre technologies.
Responsibilities:
Planning and technical leadership of demanding infrastructure and transformation projects
Development of modern virtualisation architectures for highly available and secure IT platforms
Design and implementation of VMware, Hyper-V, and Horizon environments
Building and further developing hybrid cloud architectures with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365
Integration of private cloud, public cloud, and hyper-converged infrastructure
Analysis of existing data centre environments and development of future-proof modernisation concepts
Planning and implementation of migrations to new virtualisation and cloud platforms
Integration of storage, backup, and recovery solutions into complex infrastructure architectures
Implementation of security concepts for virtual and hybrid platforms
Development of automation solutions to standardise and accelerate infrastructure processes
Technical consulting of customers on architecture decisions and technology roadmaps
Conducting technical workshops and presentations at solution and engineering level
Support in developing modern infrastructure services and standardised solution components
Coaching engineers and transferring technical know-how
Evaluation of new technologies in cloud, virtualisation, security, HCI, and automation
Qualifications:
Education or degree in computer science, ideally supplemented by a higher technical college/university of applied sciences further education
Several years of experience in engineering complex IT infrastructures
Solid practical experience with VMware vSphere and ideally Omnissa Horizon
Very good knowledge of Microsoft Azure and modern cloud infrastructures
Experience with Microsoft Hyper-V and hybrid data centre architectures
Good knowledge of storage, backup, and recovery technologies
Understanding of network architectures and security in virtualised environments
Experience with migrations and technical transformation projects
Ideally certifications in the VMware or Microsoft environment
Interest in infrastructure as code, automation, and modern DevOps methods
Analytical and solution-oriented thinking
Confident appearance in technical customer projects
High personal responsibility and willingness to actively engage with technological topics
