Role:
High availability does not happen by itself but through clean system operation. This is exactly where the work as a Linux/Windows Systems Engineer Cloud comes in. The focus is on virtualised server environments on Windows Server and Linux, operated for numerous business customers. You keep releases, patches and system states under control and drive automation forward. Those who understand system technology down to the kernel and service level will find real depth here.
Responsibilities:
You roll out system updates, releases and application installations in customer environments.
Furthermore, you operate monitoring and technically evaluate logs, metrics and alarms.
You handle incidents at second and third level, from root cause analysis to resolution.
Scripting with PowerShell and Bash is part of your toolkit for recurring operational tasks.
Additionally, you contribute to backup, restore and hardening concepts of the platform.
You also support the technical expansion of the cloud infrastructure with your own proposals.
Qualifications:
A solid IT education and several years of practical experience in system operation form your basis.
You bring solid know-how in server operating systems, virtualisation, storage and network fundamentals.
You work analytically, carefully and document your steps comprehensibly.
Furthermore, you communicate technical topics clearly, also to customers.
You are fluent in German and have sufficient English for technical documentation.
You are also open to working during maintenance windows and on-call duties within the team.
