What awaits you.
We set the signals to green for the railway: SBB Infrastructure builds, operates and maintains the SBB railway network, one of the busiest in Europe. Around 9,000 employees ensure day and night that passengers and goods reach their destinations safely, punctually and reliably. The Contracts and Network Access domain of Timetable and Operations Infrastructure establishes and manages contracts at the interfaces with other infrastructures. Our main mission is to contractually safeguard the interests of SBB. In doing so, we contribute to the safety of railway operations, the maintenance of future development opportunities and a clear allocation of financial responsibilities. Our partners include municipalities, cantons, private individuals as well as other railway companies and infrastructure managers. The position offers an attractive career development perspective: depending on your training, experience and specialised knowledge, direct engagement as a contract specialist is possible. Otherwise, you gradually develop your skills as a contract manager and take on additional specialised responsibilities as you gain experience.
What you can move.
- You establish and manage infrastructure contracts based on existing models, including siding contracts, network connection contracts or those related to structures. You coordinate their content with internal SBB partners and ensure correct invoicing.
- You respond to questions relating to infrastructure contracts within your area of responsibility and clarify technical, economic or legal aspects with the competent internal specialised services.
- In the context of third-party construction projects near railway facilities, you examine the interests of SBB that require contractual protection and ensure their appropriate consideration.
- You prepare negotiations with cantons, municipalities, private individuals and other companies, and support internal partners during their conduct.
- Within the framework of SBB studies and projects, you analyse the necessary contractual measures, advise project management and support the implementation of the required contracts.
- You participate in specialised groups dealing with cross-cutting topics, such as the development and advancement of contractual bases and processes as well as fundamental questions relating to sidings. Additionally, you provide cover for your colleagues in their absence and ensure continuity in handling ongoing matters.
What you bring.
- You stand out through excellent communication and advisory skills as well as great ease in writing in your dealings with internal and external partners.
- Thanks to your analytical ability and quick comprehension, you know how to grasp and structure technical, economic and legal issues and resolve them by consulting the competent specialists. Furthermore, you demonstrate confidence, negotiation skill, initiative and a rigorous and reliable working method.
- You are proficient in common Microsoft Office applications and quickly familiarise yourself with new systems and processes.
- You have a commercial vocational training or comparable education as well as several years of experience. Experience in the railway sector, infrastructure, real estate or contract management is an advantage.
- You master French in a negotiation context, ideally at C2 level, and have good knowledge of German. Italian is not essential but is an important asset.
- For direct engagement as a contract specialist, you ideally have higher education or a university degree as well as solid experience in independently handling complex contractual, legal or infrastructure matters.
