After-School Sector Manager at 90%
Faced with the challenge of a growing number of children in after-school care and the construction of new schools in the Canton of Geneva, the Intercommunal Group for After-School Activities must recruit more staff to fulfil its mission and meet the needs of all Geneva families.
Its mission is to welcome primary school pupils during the lunch break and late afternoon, assuming a duty of educational development complementary to those of the family, the school and extracurricular activities.
Your missions
As Sector Manager, you will play a central role in the supervision, coordination and development of the GIAP socio-educational teams.
Your main role will be to lead and coordinate an after-school sector by overseeing all organisational, managerial and operational activities. You will be the driving force behind a collaborative environment focused on innovation and continuous improvement of services.
Team management: Supervise, evaluate and support a team of 20 to 40 employees spread across different locations, ensuring close presence and a harmonious team dynamic.
Quality of services: Ensure a high level of quality in socio-educational services by identifying and ensuring the deployment of good institutional practices.
Projects: Lead projects with significant impact on the ground, in line with organisational objectives.
Field presence: Ensure active and regular presence on the various sites in your sector, requiring rigorous organisation and suitable means of mobility.
Skills development: Conduct regular follow-ups and reviews with employees, encourage and promote training (individual and/or collective) to foster team skill development and integrate new educational approaches.
Coordination and collaboration: Play a key role in coordination between teams, management and partners.
Your profile
- HES-level diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Certified training in team management is an asset.
- Collaborative and caring leadership with the ability to unite teams.
- Mastery of interpersonal relations: active listening, appropriate communication, negotiation.
- Adaptability, stress management and ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
- Experience: Several years of successful experience in managing socio-educational teams or in the educational/after-school field.
- Good knowledge of the Geneva school and socio-educational network is a significant asset.
- Advanced proficiency in office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
- Ability to plan, coordinate and lead complex projects.
