Senior System Engineer Microsoft & VMware (m/f/d)

Role:
Our client is an IT service provider that supports SMEs with practical IT solutions from consulting through implementation to ongoing operation. In a small, technically skilled team, you take responsibility for demanding customer infrastructures and can directly contribute your ideas. You manage Microsoft and VMware environments, independently carry out projects, and accompany migrations in the areas of storage and backup. Personal customer contact, varied tasks, and a great deal of personal responsibility characterise your working day.
Responsibilities:
Ensuring the stable operation of demanding IT infrastructures for SME customers
Support, monitoring, and updating of customer systems remotely and on-site
Planning, preparation, and implementation of hardware and software installations as well as migrations
Independent conception and realisation of customer projects
Execution of system migrations in the areas of storage, virtualisation, and backup
Creation of technical specifications and maintenance of system documentation
Supporting the team with technical questions and handling support requests
Qualifications:
Completed training in computer systems engineering
Further education at HF or FH level or a comparable additional qualification
Very good knowledge of Microsoft and VMware server environments
Several years of experience with storage and backup solutions, for example from HPE, Fujitsu, Acronis or Synology
Analytical and conceptual skills as well as an independent and structured way of working
High personal responsibility, reliability, flexibility, and resilience
Enjoyment of direct customer contact and technical support by phone or remote access
Good German skills and ideally further language skills in English, French or Italian
Category B driving licence and willingness to attend customer appointments on site
