Associate Dean of Faculty
The Associate Dean of Faculty plays a central role in the day-to-day academic operations of the business school, ensuring the effective management and deployment of faculty to support excellence in teaching and learning. Reporting to the Dean, the Associate Dean works closely with program leadership and the Academic Office to support faculty performance, ensure the quality of pedagogical delivery, and align faculty contributions with institutional priorities. Through oversight of faculty resource planning and Centers of Excellence, the role helps advance the school’s mission of impactful thought leadership.
What will you do?
- Provide overall leadership for faculty affairs, acting as functional manager and primary point of contact for all full-time and part-time faculty.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of academic policies, programs, and standards in collaboration with Associate Deans and the Academic Office (AO).
- Plan and allocate faculty and pedagogical resources across programs, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and a rolling three-year capacity plan.
- Lead the evaluation of teaching quality and pedagogical effectiveness, and conduct faculty performance reviews in coordination with program leadership and the AO.
- Manage faculty recruitment, selection, onboarding, and career development in line with institutional policies and procedures.
- Partner with the AO on faculty development, promotions, research initiatives, and academic policy implementation.
- Oversee the coordination and performance of Centers of Excellence, ensuring alignment with the school’s research and thought leadership strategy.
- Ensure the curriculum remains current, relevant, and of high quality in collaboration with Associate Deans and academic stakeholders.
- Foster strong communication, collaboration, and coordination among faculty, departments, and administrative leadership.
- Represent faculty and academic interests internally and externally, while contributing to a collegial, inclusive, and performance-driven academic culture, including alumni engagement initiatives.
Who you are?
- You have a PhD degree in a related field.
- You have at least 10 years of experience in higher education with 3 to 5 years of experience in academic program development, curriculum design, and/or academic administrative roles.
- You are recognized for a strong track record of pedagogical performance and teaching excellence.
- You have proven leadership and management experience, including staff recruitment, development, and evaluation.
- You have solid knowledge of academic quality assurance processes and accreditation standards.
- You have strong organizational, administrative, and budgeting skills, including financial and resource management.
- You are an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
- You are able to foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative learning and working environment.
- You are fluent in English and French (C1), German is a plus.
