At La Montre Hermès, within the Commercial Department and the Commercial Operations team, the Import-Export Manager is responsible for managing exports and organising transport, in line with the spirit of service and progress that Hermès aims to offer its clients.
He/she works closely with members of the Import-Export team and collaborates with various departments to organise shipments and other occasional events. He/she coordinates and, if necessary, assists the Commercial Coordinators by preparing shipping documents (invoices, waybills, e-dec, CITES, legalisations, EUR 1, etc.).
Your main tasks will be as follows:
The Import-Export Manager ensures that the right product is made available to the client, at the right place, at the right time, at the lowest cost and with the best quality, by selecting the most appropriate means of transport in terms of freight type and security level.
He/she complies with and masters international legislation and free trade agreements, manages export and invoicing formalities, and provides customs clearance instructions for imports.
He/she provides relevant and high-quality responses to all requests from internal and external clients in a spirit of service and respect, fosters a positive mindset within the team, maintains close collaboration with various freight forwarders and partners, and manages the logistics of various trade fairs.
He/she manages daily contacts with internal clients by providing them with relevant solutions and information.
He/she handles CITES order management via the Federal Veterinary Office extranet site, declares all exports in the specific software, and acts as the main point of contact for any questions related to national or international transport, goods returns, and customs formalities.
He/she arranges legalisations through the Chamber of Commerce if necessary, issues and manages ATA carnets, and manages shipment preparation by coordinating with the shipping department and sales administration.
He/she optimises shipments by consolidating goods, in agreement with the markets, and prepares commercial and pro forma invoices, including recharging packaging and transport costs.
He/she researches tariff classifications, maintains and updates the data platform (Bolduc), verifies and validates carrier and freight forwarder invoices, and organises transport to destination according to client instructions.
He/she monitors shipments until delivery, reports any issues during export, and proposes solutions.
He/she collects customs documents necessary as proof of export and ensures their regular filing, provides import instructions upon request, and manages the filing and archiving of documents.
Your profile:
You hold a Federal VET Diploma in Commercial Employment or an equivalent qualification, and have significant experience with a freight forwarder or in an export department.
You are proficient in the Office environment as well as an ERP tool, and have excellent command of French both spoken and written, as well as fluent English.
With a strong team spirit and a keen sense of priorities, you manage stress effectively and demonstrate rigour, a sense of responsibility, and a constant concern for control and verification of information.
Autonomous and service-oriented, you show flexibility and great adaptability to very diverse situations and issues, while demonstrating diplomacy and interpersonal ease.
