ICT System Engineer (m/f/d)

Role:
Business-critical data requires more than simple backup. A specialist is needed who develops robust storage architectures, establishes automated backup processes, and consistently aligns recovery concepts with reliability. In this role, you combine deep infrastructure knowledge with modern technologies for data security and fault tolerance.
Responsibilities:
Design and further development of powerful storage and data backup architectures
Engineering of backup platforms with solutions such as Veeam, Commvault or comparable technologies
Planning and optimisation of storage environments based on SAN, NAS and software-defined storage
Development of multi-tier backup concepts with local, external and immutable backup copies
Implementation of protection concepts against ransomware, data loss and unintended changes
Automation of backup, control and recovery processes
Conducting regular restore tests to verify actual recoverability
Development of disaster recovery scenarios and technical restart plans
Analysis of backup errors, storage bottlenecks and performance issues
Optimisation of retention policies, data replication and storage capacities
Documentation of technical standards as well as continuous improvement of data resilience
Qualifications:
Experience in system engineering, storage management or backup engineering
Solid knowledge of modern data backup and recovery solutions
Experience with enterprise storage, SAN/NAS and virtualised system environments
Understanding of disaster recovery, high availability and business continuity
Knowledge of immutable backups, access protection and ransomware defence
Experience with PowerShell or comparable automation tools
Ability to assess technical risks and develop sustainable solutions
Independent working style, high diligence and a strong sense of responsibility
