About the job
The Marterey Childhood Institution (IPE) in Lausanne is a collective day care centre managed by the Vaud Youth Assistance Centre (CVAJ). It has a capacity of 41 places for children
from 4 months old until school entry. Mainly subsidised by the city of Lausanne (SPE)
and the canton of Vaud (DIRIS), it is unique in being a "relay" centre for families
benefiting from a socio-professional integration measure or courses within the framework of the Adult Training Interest Community (CIFEA).
We are looking for a:
Director (70-90%)
Main responsibilities:
- Encourage listening to and participation of families and children attending.
- Develop and adjust the institutional concept based on an ongoing effective definition of quality.
- Be responsible for respecting the objectives and principles defined in the institutional concept.
- Evaluate the service in a participative and continuous manner and lead pedagogical reflection with teams and families.
- Take measures to improve the quality of child care and family reception, propose innovative projects.
- Develop inter-team collaboration, promote institutional decompartmentalisation and openness to the neighbourhood.
- Support and advise staff and families in the complexity of encountered situations.
- In agreement with parents, ensure necessary contacts with competent social, medical, paramedical or educational services.
- Respecting available places and resources, standards and regulations, ensure work planning and family enrolment.
- Manage staff hours, attendance and absences.
- Recruit permanent and auxiliary staff, set objectives.
- Ensure follow-up of collaboration interviews for all staff.
- Motivate staff to pursue objectives developed for personnel and the institution.
- Actively participate in Association projects and respond to related requests.
- Participate in network meetings (R-L, DIRIS, etc.), CVAJ inter-service coordinations and relay information received to staff.
- Keep the general management and other service directors informed of the service’s smooth running, providing regular feedback on activities.
- Promote the good image of the service and the Association.
- Inform parents, the public and partners about the aims and functioning of the service and the Association.
Expected profile:
- Holder of a HES-level diploma in Social Work (TS, TSP, TSHM).
- CAS diploma in team management.
- CAS diploma or higher training in systemic approaches, migrations and plural societies, inclusion or other.
- At least 5 years’ experience in the childhood and youth field.
- At least 3 years in project or management roles.
- Excellent understanding of issues related to Vaud day care.
- Excellent knowledge of the Lausanne and Vaud social work resource network.
- Strong interest in complex social situations and welcoming families in precarious or vulnerable situations.
- Proficient with common IT and web tools.
- Recognised leadership skills.
- Ease in communication, both written and oral.
- Recognised teamwork skills.
- Good understanding of financial principles and budget management.
- Good organisational and technical skills, suited to managing placements of variable duration and multiple funding sources.
- Strong experience and skills in analysing and creating pedagogical concepts related to diversity inclusion.
- Motivation to invest in an association working for youth and childhood assistance.
- Critical thinking.
- Interpersonal skills and commitment.
- Clean criminal record.
Start date: to be agreed.
Salary conditions: class 12, EQUITAS scale.
Workplace: Rue Marterey 23, Lausanne.
