Virtualization Engineer (m/f/d)

Role:
Do you want to develop modern platforms that combine performance, scalability and operational reliability? In this position, you will design virtualised IT environments, further develop hybrid infrastructures and automate technical processes. We are looking for an experienced engineer who understands complex system landscapes and implements innovative infrastructure concepts in practice.
Responsibilities:
Architecture and further development of modern virtualisation platforms for business-critical workloads
Planning, implementation and optimisation of VMware, Hyper-V or comparable environments
Integration of compute, storage and network resources into powerful infrastructure platforms
Design and operation of highly available clusters as well as automated failover mechanisms
Further development of software-defined infrastructures and modern data centre concepts
Execution of platform migrations, technology upgrades and capacity expansions
Analysis of performance bottlenecks and optimisation of resource allocation
Automation of infrastructure processes with PowerShell, APIs or Infrastructure as Code
Development of standardised deployment processes for virtual machines and system resources
Evaluation of new technologies in the areas of virtualisation, hybrid cloud and infrastructure automation
Qualifications:
Solid experience in system engineering or operation of virtualised infrastructures
Good knowledge of VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V or comparable platforms
Experience with storage connections, virtual networks and high availability concepts
Understanding of cluster architectures, resource management and system performance
Knowledge of PowerShell, Python or Infrastructure as Code is an advantage
Experience with backup and recovery solutions for virtualised systems
Analytical thinking and a structured approach to technical challenges
Motivation to further develop modern infrastructure standards and automate operational processes
