About the job
A heat pump in a single-family home reports a fault. A burner fails in an industrial plant. A hospital urgently needs technical support. Three customers, three different issues, and not every service technician is equally qualified for every assignment.
This is exactly where your work begins. Because good scheduling means far more than just finding free appointments and sending fitters across Northwestern Switzerland. It requires technical understanding, excellent organisation, geographical insight, and the ability to make sensible decisions even under time pressure.
Our client is a successfully established company in heating and energy technology with around 80 employees throughout Switzerland. At the state-of-the-art location in the Basel agglomeration, around 25 specialists work, who have specialised in different technical disciplines. For the demanding deployment planning, we are looking immediately or by arrangement for a knowledgeable and organisationally skilled personality as
Service Dispatcher Heating Technology 100% (m/f/d) - Not every technician can do everything. You know who can do what...
Your tasks:
- You coordinate and schedule service assignments for highly specialised technicians for heat pumps, oil and gas heating systems, as well as demanding commercial and industrial heat generation systems
- In doing so, you consider not only urgency, availability, and geographical proximity, but especially the technical qualifications, product knowledge, and individual specialisations of your service technicians
- You assess incoming service requests, clarify technical matters in advance, and ensure that the right specialist is deployed for each system wherever possible
- You plan maintenance, fault repairs, and other service work so that travel routes, workload, customer needs, and operational priorities are sensibly coordinated
- You maintain regular communication with customers, service technicians, and internal specialist departments. In the event of short-term failures, emergencies, or appointment changes, you reorganise thoughtfully and decisively
Your profile
- You know heating and building technology from practical experience and understand that there are significant differences between a routine maintenance, a complex heat pump fault, and a problem with an industrial firing system
- Ideally, you have a technical basic education in heating, energy, or building technology and have developed commercially or organisationally. Experienced individuals from technical customer service or service dispatch with solid industry and product knowledge are also welcome
- You are familiar with heat pumps, oil and gas heating systems, and the different requirements for service technicians. Knowledge of Weishaupt and Dimplex products is a particular advantage
- You know the geographical conditions in Northwestern Switzerland, think economically, and plan proactively. Even when the phone does not stop ringing and several urgent matters arrive simultaneously, you neither lose overview nor your professional composure
- You communicate clearly, have a healthy assertiveness, and possess the necessary tact in dealing with customers and technically specialised employees. Good German language skills and confidence in using digital planning and administration systems are prerequisites
What you can expect
You will take on a very responsible key position in a technically demanding service company. You will be thoroughly inducted and trained. Your working environment is modern, excellently equipped, and geared towards professional processes. You will work with proven specialists, benefit from short communication channels, and become part of a company that relies on technical expertise, specialisation, and long-term customer relationships.
The role is varied, requires initiative, and offers you the opportunity to combine your organisational skills daily with technical expertise. Because good scheduling does not simply fill a deployment calendar. It prevents the wrong technician from being in the right place.
