About the job

An internationally active technology company develops and operates business-critical digital platforms and communication solutions. For the Infrastructure & Network Engineering team, we are looking for an experienced individual with a focus on server, Linux, and virtualisation infrastructure.

Your Responsibilities

Operation and further development of the physical server and storage infrastructure at various data centre locations
Coordination of hardware installations, replacement work, upgrades, cabling as well as rack and power connections
Monitoring of hardware condition, power supply, temperature, storage capacities and other infrastructure parameters
Operation and administration of Proxmox VE clusters, virtual machines and Linux systems
Administration and further development of Ceph and ZFS storage environments
Provisioning, patching, upgrades and monitoring of Linux servers and infrastructure components
Operation of central infrastructure services such as DNS, DHCP, NTP and internal certificate infrastructure
Implementation and regular testing of backup, restore and disaster recovery processes
Maintenance of infrastructure inventories, lifecycle planning, warranties, spare hardware and technical documentation
Support in automation and configuration management of recurring infrastructure tasks
Coordination of technical work with data centre operators, hardware manufacturers and external service providers
Support with Cisco networks, Palo Alto firewalls, VPNs and general connectivity issues
Administration of Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory and Exchange Online
Support with end devices, office infrastructure, WLAN, telephony and meeting room technology
Participation in incident management, infrastructure changes and compensated on-call duty

Our Requirements

Practical experience in Linux system administration and operation of server infrastructures
Experience with virtualisation solutions such as Proxmox, VMware or comparable technologies
Good knowledge in the area of storage, ideally with Ceph, ZFS or comparable distributed storage systems
Sound knowledge of server hardware, operating system installation, patching and monitoring
Understanding of backup, restore, high availability and disaster recovery
Good knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NTP and other central network services
Experience with Bash, PowerShell, Python or a comparable scripting language is an advantage
Knowledge of Cisco networking, Palo Alto firewalls or VPN technologies is an advantage
Experience with Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID or Active Directory is an advantage
Analytical and solution-oriented thinking as well as pronounced personal responsibility
Team-oriented and communicative personality
Training in IT, system engineering, computer science or a comparable qualification, e.g. computer scientist EFZ, ICT specialist EFZ, ICT system and network technician or comparable
Very good English skills; German is an advantage
Residence in Switzerland
