What we offer you.
The Railway Traffic Management division maintains and develops the safety systems that enable safe and reliable railway operations. In your role, together with your team, you create solutions for thousands of travellers and tonnes of goods, crucial for the further strategic development and digitalisation of our systems at national and European levels. You hold a managerial position of responsibility, with a wide scope for manoeuvre and a clear focus on effectiveness. You can find our benefits, such as family allowances, free 1st class GA travelcard and discounted travel abroad – also for your family – on our website at the Benefits page.
What you can get moving.
- Together with your team leader, you manage a department of around 45 engineers, physicists and other specialists and take on technical and personnel responsibility.
- Together with clients, you define and are responsible for strategic initiatives for the further development of railway management systems, digitalisation and innovation (e.g. digital control processes, automation, data analysis).
- You ensure compliance with technical standards (e.g. CENELEC), safety requirements and quality standards and verify adherence to financial guidelines.
- As a member of the Railway Traffic Management leadership team, you actively participate in its further development, both human and technological. You manage and develop the network with industrial partners, suppliers and national and European project partners and represent railway traffic management in relevant bodies.
What you bring with you.
- With courage and determination, you drive major transformation projects forward, always keeping an eye on the human aspects of change.
- You have already gained managerial experience in leading interdisciplinary teams during your professional career.
- Specialist experience in portfolio, budget and risk management. With sensitivity and diplomacy, you are able to reconcile complex issues between customer needs, cost-effectiveness and safety.
- You have solid knowledge of industrial development processes (V-model, standards such as CENELEC) and the railway environment.
- This role requires a technical degree (PF/university/University of Applied Sciences or equivalent), ideally complemented by further economic training in business management or management.
- You have a good command of German (at least level C1) and a good knowledge of a second national language (at least level B2).
Salary and benefits.
