Role:
Technical leadership with direct influence on infrastructure, cloud, and hosting. A versatile leadership position for an experienced IT professional who not only manages teams but also further develops modern platforms, secures critical services, and turns IT infrastructure into a genuine business service.
Responsibilities:
Strategic and operational leadership of an IT infrastructure and operations team
Development of a high-performance organisation focusing on personal responsibility, automation, and continuous improvement
Responsibility for the technical foundation of central business services and digital workplaces
Design and further development of hybrid infrastructure and cloud landscapes
Ensuring stable 24/7 operation of critical IT services
Management of platforms for servers, networks, workplace, communication, cloud, and hosting
Establishment of clear operating models for monitoring, support, escalation, and technical on-call duty
Leading root cause analyses for complex incidents and sustainably eliminating recurring errors
Responsibility for technical releases, changes, migrations, and major infrastructure projects
Introduction of modern automation and standardisation concepts to reduce manual operational efforts
Development of technical standards for security, permissions, backup, recovery, and system hardening
Regular review of disaster recovery and business continuity capabilities
Evaluation of new platforms, tools, and technology partners including technical and economic decision bases
Management of external providers and ensuring defined service levels
Technical support of hosting customers and development of suitable infrastructure and service concepts
Creation of technical hosting offers and ensuring correct service recording
Establishment of transparent KPI and service reporting structures for availability, performance, and quality
Close coordination with security, development, project management, and other technical departments
Representation of infrastructure interests in higher-level IT committees and group-wide technology initiatives
Monitoring trends around cloud computing, automation, cyber security, and platform engineering
Qualifications:
Several years of experience as a system engineer, infrastructure engineer, IT operations manager, or in a comparable position
Experience in leading and developing technical teams
Extensive practical knowledge in complex IT infrastructure environments
Experience with cloud technologies, servers, networks, and modern workplace solutions
Sound knowledge in IT operations and service management
Experience with technical projects, migrations, releases, and change processes
Understanding of cyber security, data protection, permission models, and technical compliance
Knowledge in backup, recovery, monitoring, and business continuity
Ability to combine operational challenges with a long-term architectural perspective
Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Analytical, solution-oriented, and entrepreneurial mindset
Enjoyment in developing people while advancing technically demanding topics
