Security Engineer (m/f/d)

Role:
You want to develop secure IT solutions and at the same time ensure that authentication for users works as simply as possible? In this role, you combine security engineering with system technology, networks and modern identity management. You develop and integrate security solutions for applications and platforms, support customers with technical questions and ensure that security concepts also function reliably in productive operation.
Responsibilities:
Design and integration of security functions in applications and platforms - from login processes to secure communication between services
Development and integration of modern IAM and authentication solutions for web and platform architectures
Securing existing systems through application security, system hardening and well-thought-out security architectures
Implementation and integration of security technologies in productive environments
Collaboration with architects, software developers and technology partners
Technical consulting of customers and development of practical security solutions
Support in security and system engineering tasks in various customer environments and projects
Qualifications:
Completed computer science degree at a university of applied sciences or university
Experience in network security, especially firewalling, routing, switching or VPN
Experience in several of the following areas:
IAM and web authentication: OpenID Connect, OAuth, SAML
Web technologies and security standards: REST, HTTP, TLS
Application security and IAM solutions, ideally with products from USP or Ergon
Cryptography, PKI and OpenSSL
System hardening on Linux, Kubernetes or Windows platforms
Log analysis with Kibana
Experience with AI-supported development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor or GitHub Copilot is an advantage
Analytical thinking skills as well as a structured and solution-oriented working style
Enjoyment in collaborating with customers, developers and technical specialists
Very good German and English skills, spoken and written
