Geomatics Specialist for a Government Entity
About the Role
For our client, a government entity, we are looking for someone comfortable with map reading to assist them in restructuring their systems. As a Geomatics Specialist, you will play a key role in the migration and validation of territorial data. You will work independently on interconnected projects within a team of passionate experts.
You will be responsible for sorting and verifying geomatic data. This is a great opportunity for a meticulous and motivated individual. Additionally, partial remote work is possible after 3 months!

What we offer We offer a 6-month renewable full-time assignment. You will benefit from a stable working environment, standard office hours, and an ideal location just 10 minutes from Sion train station.
Tasks
- Check consistency between paper maps and digital databases
- Process and analyse geographic data
- Detect, analyse and correct data errors
- Integrate natural hazard data into the GIS
- Maintain occasional contact with partner municipalities
- Carry out administrative follow-up, filing and documentation
We are looking for
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in geography, environment or equivalent completed
- Advanced proficiency in French
- Excellent map reading skills
An advantage if you have
- Good knowledge of German
- Familiarity with AFA or ArcMap tools
- Academic training in Geography or Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
- General proficiency with standard GIS tools
