About the Role

For our client, a government entity, we are looking for someone comfortable with map reading to assist them in restructuring their systems. As a Geomatics Specialist, you will play a key role in the migration and validation of territorial data. You will work independently on interconnected projects within a team of passionate experts.

You will be responsible for sorting and verifying geomatic data. This is a great opportunity for a meticulous and motivated individual. Additionally, partial remote work is possible after 3 months!

What we offer We offer a 6-month renewable full-time assignment. You will benefit from a stable working environment, standard office hours, and an ideal location just 10 minutes from Sion train station.

Tasks

• Check consistency between paper maps and digital databases
• Process and analyse geographic data
• Detect, analyse and correct data errors
• Integrate natural hazard data into the GIS
• Maintain occasional contact with partner municipalities
• Carry out administrative follow-up, filing and documentation

We are looking for

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in geography, environment or equivalent completed
• Advanced proficiency in French
• Excellent map reading skills

An advantage if you have

• Good knowledge of German
• Familiarity with AFA or ArcMap tools
• Academic training in Geography or Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
• General proficiency with standard GIS tools
