Scheuchzer SA specialises in mechanised maintenance of railway tracks. Since 1947, we have been designing, building, operating and maintaining our own machines to meet the demands of railway networks in Switzerland and Europe.

To strengthen our IT department, we are looking for a long-term assignment (until the end of 2027) for a:

Systems Administrator & IT Support (M/F) – 100% Fixed-Term Contract

Your mission

Integrated into the IT department, you contribute to the availability, performance and security of our IT infrastructure. Your role combines systems administration, advanced technical support and continuous improvement of our IT environment.

You will notably be responsible for:

• Administering and maintaining Windows Server and Linux environments as well as our virtualised VMware infrastructure;
• Managing key infrastructure services such as Active Directory / Entra ID, GPO, DNS, DHCP and certificates;
• Administering backup solutions and participating in restoration tests as well as disaster recovery and business continuity exercises;
• Managing the Microsoft 365 environment, including Exchange, SharePoint and Teams;
• Participating in the management and supervision of the network, VPN access and various security devices;
• Handling level 2 and 3 support incidents and requests;
• Administering and optimising Atlassian tools, notably Jira, Jira Service Management and Confluence;
• Identifying automation opportunities, optimising IT processes and maintaining technical documentation;
• Providing technical support to other team members and sharing your knowledge.

Your profile

• You hold a Federal VET Diploma in IT or an equivalent qualification, ideally complemented by a federal certificate or recognised certifications;
• You have several years of experience in systems administration and IT support;
• You possess solid knowledge of Windows Server and Linux environments;
• You are proficient with virtualised VMware environments and have experience with enterprise backup solutions such as Veeam and/or Dell PowerProtect Data Manager;
• You have good network knowledge and are comfortable with LAN/WAN environments, firewalls and VPNs;
• You are familiar with the Atlassian suite, especially Jira, Jira Service Management and Confluence;
• You master PowerShell; knowledge of Bash and/or Python is an asset;
• Autonomous and meticulous, you know how to organise your priorities in a multitasking environment;
• You have a service-oriented mindset and appreciate sharing knowledge and supporting users;
• You are fluent in French and have good knowledge of German as well as technical English.
