Containers, Linux and automation: Develop a highly available platform and reliably bring modern workloads into production.
We are looking for a technically skilled specialist who not only administers Kubernetes but actively further develops the platform. The role combines Linux engineering, containerisation, automation, and CI/CD with demanding platform operations.
Work location: Bern or Zurich (with hybrid options)
Responsibilities:
Engineering and operation of productive Kubernetes platforms
Further development of scalable container environments for internal services and customer solutions
Automation of provisioning, configuration, and deployments with Ansible
Development of reusable Ansible roles, playbooks, and automation components
Administration and technical further development of Linux infrastructures
Implementation of hardening, patch, and lifecycle concepts for servers and platform components
Support of network, storage, and compute resources in the infrastructure environment
Building and optimisation of automated CI/CD pipelines
Integration of build, test, and release processes into modern DevOps workflows
Management of source code and deployment configurations with Git
Monitoring of platform performance, capacity, and availability
Analysis of complex faults and implementation of sustainable recovery and restore solutions
Further development of monitoring, logging, and observability concepts
Participation in securing and standardising platforms and operational processes
Collaboration with development, application managers, and external technology partners
Technical consulting on architecture, operations, and deployment questions
Qualifications:
Education in computer science, higher technical school, university degree, or comparable solid practical experience
Several years of experience in Linux engineering or operation of complex server landscapes
Sound knowledge of Linux, ideally RHEL, Debian, or Ubuntu
Practical experience with Kubernetes and container technologies
Experience with Helm and Kubernetes troubleshooting is an advantage
Good knowledge of Ansible and configuration management
Experience with GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, or comparable automation platforms
Confident handling of Git
Basic knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and PowerShell or willingness to deepen knowledge
Understanding of network, storage, and security concepts
Experience with monitoring, backup, recovery, and highly available systems is an advantage
Enjoyment of automation, standardisation, and technical improvements
Analytical and structured approach to complex problems
Strong service orientation and communication skills
