Our client places great value on a secure and high-performance IT infrastructure that reliably supports daily operations. You will strengthen a well-coordinated technical team and take care of servers, virtualisation, data backup, and storage solutions. The focus is on analysing technical faults, monitoring central systems, and regularly maintaining the platforms. You will take on clearly defined operational tasks, contribute to infrastructure projects, and work closely with system engineers, architecture managers, and the network team.
Responsibilities:
Analyse and resolve faults in 2nd-level support for server, backup, storage, and virtualisation systems
Regularly check backup jobs as well as monitor and handle system warnings
Install patches and perform ongoing maintenance on virtualisation platforms
Install, configure, and operate Windows and Linux servers
Manage storage infrastructures and support the reliable operation of data centre systems
Carry out technical operational tasks according to the specifications of system engineers and technical architects
Provide operational support for infrastructure and architecture projects and participate in on-call duty
Qualifications:
IT training EFZ, completed apprenticeship or equivalent recognised qualification
Experience in system administration or level 2 IT support
Good knowledge of Windows and Linux servers as well as SAN storage environments
Knowledge of VMware vSphere, ESXi, Veeam, and storage solutions such as Pure Storage or DELL/EMC
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of PowerShell
Experience in maintaining monitoring systems; knowledge of WhatsUp Gold is an advantage
Reliable and service-oriented personality with an independent working style
Team player with good communication skills when collaborating with different IT departments
Native German or French speaker, good knowledge of the other language, and intermediate technical English skills
