Responsibilities:
You are responsible for the operation, engineering, and continuous optimisation of highly available virtualisation and backup infrastructures.
You manage central technologies such as VMware vSphere, vSAN, CommVault, and disaster recovery systems as well as the HPE Synergy infrastructure.
You ensure the 24/7 availability of the systems and develop sustainable solutions to guarantee a stable and secure IT operation.
You independently design and implement IT infrastructure projects and work closely with internal specialists, especially on cloud integrations and automation initiatives.
You are responsible for planning and further developing the data centre infrastructure, maintain the technical operational documentation, and take on the on-call duty approximately every seven weeks.
Qualifications:
You have completed training as an IT specialist EFZ with a focus on system technology as well as further education at HF or FH level.
You have solid experience with highly available server environments and are familiar with CommVault or comparable backup solutions.
You bring comprehensive knowledge of VMware vSphere and vSAN and ideally have already worked with HPE Synergy, server monitoring, and automation.
You possess a strong understanding of IT security, disaster recovery, and cyber resilience and know how to protect critical systems against failures and cyberattacks.
You work independently, reliably, and service-oriented, show initiative, and communicate very well in German as well as well in English.
