Senior System Engineer - IT Infrastructure & Virtualisation (m/f/d)

- You design, build, operate and continuously improve global IT infrastructure services focusing on servers, storage, SAN, virtualisation and Active Directory
- In this role, you manage physical and virtual server platforms, storage systems, SAN infrastructure and associated data centre hardware components
- As a Senior System Engineer, you plan and execute hardware lifecycle activities, including technology refreshes, firmware and driver updates, capacity planning and end-of-life replacement in coordination with external vendors
- You ensure second- and third-level support for server, storage, SAN, virtualisation, Windows server and Active Directory services
- In this role, you analyse business and IT requirements and develop secure, scalable and cost-efficient infrastructure solutions
- You automate recurring operational tasks with scripting and tools, especially with PowerShell
Qualifications:
- You hold a bachelor’s degree, a higher technical college diploma or an equivalent qualification in computer engineering, information technology, systems engineering or a related technical field
- You have at least seven to ten years of professional experience in IT system engineering or IT operations
- You bring solid experience with enterprise server infrastructures, virtualisation platforms and the associated management tools
- You have very good knowledge of storage and SAN technologies as well as Windows Server, VMware, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP and other Microsoft infrastructure services
- You use PowerShell purposefully to automate recurring operational tasks, taking into account security aspects such as hardening, patching, privileged access and monitoring
- You communicate confidently in English, both spoken and written, and enjoy working analytically, solution-oriented and in exchange with globally distributed IT teams, vendors and service providers
