- Management of the Office for Asylum and Refugees with 50 employees in terms of expertise, personnel, organisation and finances
- Development of planning bases, concepts and measures as well as further development of the office taking into account global, national and cantonal developments
- Leadership and support of projects, participation in cantonal legislative processes as well as responsibility for the further development and coordination of IT topics
- Advising and supporting the Directorate, ensuring the flow of information, attending Directorate meetings, working in the internal crisis team and handling demanding special cases and client matters
- Management of the Care Team Nidwalden / Engelberg
- Representation of the canton in conferences and working groups
Your profile
- Strong leadership, organisational and project management skills as well as strategic and networked thinking
- Higher education (MAS), preferably in Social Work, Law, Public Management or a comparable field, as well as several years of professional and leadership experience
- Affinity for asylum and migration issues
- Sound knowledge of public administration, legislation, finance and controlling
- Experience in crisis management and extraordinary situations
- Strong communication and social skills as well as confident, authentic and approachable demeanour
- High resilience, personal responsibility, decisiveness and willingness to work outside usual hours
