Your working environment

The Department of Economic Affairs and the Interior fulfils important tasks in policing, law enforcement, penal system, migration and integration, municipal supervision and economic affairs with its ten divisions and over 2,400 employees. The General Secretariat provides central services for the department and acts as the interface to the overall administration.

We are committed to traffic safety and environmental protection at the Road Traffic Office . We provide a variety of services for the testing and approval of persons, vehicles and ships.

The Administrative Sanctions Section ensures the enforcement of road traffic law through various official measures and thus makes an important contribution to traffic safety. Depending on the individual case, warnings, temporary and permanent driving licence withdrawals, fitness to drive assessments, traffic education and other measures related to the issuance and withdrawal of driving licences are imposed. The administrative authority is generally free in establishing facts as well as in the legal assessment of fault and danger.
