As part of the development of our activities in French-speaking Switzerland, we are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Civil Engineering Calculator to participate in the acquisition and preparation of infrastructure and civil engineering projects.
A true partner of the operational teams, you are responsible for preparing cost studies and actively contribute to defining the most relevant technical, financial and organisational solutions.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare cost studies and cost calculations for civil engineering projects including concrete and infrastructure
• Analyse tender documents, specifications and execution plans.
• Detect inconsistencies, identify opportunities and anticipate risks.
• Prepare technical files, schedules, execution methodologies and documents necessary for submissions.
• Initiate and coordinate consultations with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Identify and propose technical, economic and organisational alternatives to optimise projects.
• Define construction phases, operating methods and production values.
• Participate in clarification meetings, pre-award sessions and technical negotiations with clients and partners.
• Prepare documents necessary for validation and closing meetings of offers.
• Ensure effective handover of awarded files to execution teams.
• Provide occasional technical support to Site Managers and Project Managers during the execution phase.
• Participate in the development and continuous improvement of cost databases and calculation modules.
• Perform comparisons between initial estimates and execution results to optimise future offers.
You bring:
• Training as a Civil Engineer, Master Builder, Site Manager, Foreman with federal certificate, Certified Site Manager or Civil Engineering Draftsperson is an asset.
• Minimum 5 to 7 years’ experience in cost studies in the civil engineering field.
• Excellent knowledge of infrastructure projects with an interest in concrete structures.
• Proven experience in the French-speaking Swiss market.
• Good knowledge of CAN, CFC standards and SIA phases.
• Proficiency in common IT tools and specialised software such as SAP, Baubit, Abacus or equivalents.
• Ability to analyse complex issues and propose pragmatic and effective solutions.
• Strong quality orientation, rigour and sense of responsibility.
• Respect for deadlines and commitments.
• Excellent analytical and synthesis skills.
• Team spirit and good interpersonal skills.
• Autonomy, proactivity and organisational skills.
