What you can look forward to.
As a Customer Service Assistant, you are in direct contact with our passengers and accompany them on their journey. You can expect a varied, eight-month paid full-time training during which you will be trained in theory and practice. Our training locations are Bern, Renens, Olten or Zurich Altstetten. After successfully passing the final exam, you will work throughout Switzerland in shift work as a Customer Service Assistant, with shifts always starting and ending at the same training location. The career path in customer service offers you interesting development opportunities in personnel or specialist leadership roles. As a Customer Service Assistant, you contribute to our great goal: enthusiastic customers. You see irregular working hours and shift work as an advantage because you can enjoy your free time while others are working. Night and weekend work is additionally compensated, for example with an hourly wage supplement of 16 francs for Sunday work. For night shifts, you receive time bonuses of 10 to 30%, which gives you more free time. Learn more about the profession in the recorded information event . Benefits such as a free GA travelcard and discounted travel abroad - also for the family - can be found on our website under Benefits.
What you will do.
- As a Customer Service Assistant, you are in direct contact with our customers and accompany them on their journey. You check tickets and record the personal details of passengers without a valid ticket.
- You provide our travellers with information about their connecting services, for example through train announcements.
- You offer support in case of disruptions and in implementing safety standards.
- You are also responsible for train preparation. This means you carry out brake tests as well as internal and external inspections of the trains.
- During high passenger volumes, you take on customer management tasks at the station.
- Thanks to the precisely timed duty roster, you can finish work punctually and without additional tasks or emails, enjoying your well-deserved free time.
What you bring with you.
- You are reliable, a team player and represent SBB through your presence. Thanks to your strong customer orientation as well as your excellent communication and conflict resolution skills, you contribute decisively to a positive customer experience.
- We rely on collaboration and team spirit to manage the sometimes physically demanding tasks.
- You gladly take responsibility for this demanding work, have a healthy dose of assertiveness, are proficient with digital tools and are willing to work in shifts.
- You have completed a vocational training (at least two years) or the Matura. Your motivation is more important to us than the industry you come from.
- You have very good German skills (level C1) and can already communicate in French. You are also willing to obtain two language certificates (level A2) within two years: French and either Italian or English.
- During the application process, we will require a current criminal record and debt collection register extract from you (not older than 3 months). The document can be ordered when you are invited for a personal interview.
