Role:
As a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer, you take on a central role in ensuring and further developing modern enterprise IT infrastructures. You manage demanding Windows, Citrix, and virtualisation environments and, together with the team, ensure a stable and efficient IT operation. You contribute your expertise in Microsoft 365, IT security, and modern infrastructure technologies and actively participate in the implementation of strategic IT projects. You analyse complex technical challenges, develop sustainable solutions, and advise internal stakeholders as well as external partners. With your experience and commitment, you continuously contribute to optimising IT services and further developing the system landscape.
Responsibilities:
Responsibility for the operation, further development, and optimisation of modern Windows-based IT infrastructures as well as ensuring stable 2nd-/3rd-level support for two data centres
Support and further development of Citrix Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), Citrix workplace applications, and hybrid fat client architectures
Administration and optimisation of Microsoft 365, SCCM, VMware, and HPE VM Essentials including lifecycle management and platform operation
Co-design and implementation of IT security measures, infrastructure concepts, as well as leadership and realisation of demanding IT infrastructure projects
Technical advice to internal stakeholders, coordination of external partners, and continuous improvement of IT services and operational processes
Qualifications:
Completed IT education (HF, FH or comparable qualification) as well as several years of experience as a system engineer in the Windows enterprise environment
Solid knowledge of Windows Server, Windows Client, Microsoft 365, and modern enterprise infrastructures
Practical experience with Citrix environments, virtualisation technologies, and basic know-how in IT security
Independent, structured, and solution-oriented working style with high personal responsibility, teamwork skills, and enthusiasm for technical challenges
Strong customer orientation, flexibility, and willingness to continuously familiarise yourself with new technologies and subject areas
