The Family, Education, Sport and Youth Service (FAM) supports the population in essential areas of daily life, in connection with families, schools, leisure, sport and participation in local life.
Attached to this service, the Youth Activities Sector develops a local approach for young people aged 6 to 25. It creates spaces for meeting, expression and experimentation that promote living together, inclusion and active participation of young people. It notably offers Animambule, Open Sport, Youth Reception, the Animai festival and @août, as well as neighbourhood parties, occasional actions and projects carried out with and for young people.
As the manager of the Youth Activities Sector, you lead the sector’s activities and projects and ensure that the services meet the needs of young people and the municipal orientations. Reporting directly to the head of service, you lead the team, manage the resources allocated in accordance with the service’s orientations and report on the activities, projects and issues of the sector. Among other things, you are responsible for the following main tasks:
- Planning, coordinating, supervising and evaluating the activities and projects of the Youth Activities Sector
- Designing and developing sociocultural and preventive actions adapted to the needs of young people, while supporting their own projects
- Leading the permanent and auxiliary team, notably by organising work, participating in recruitment and ensuring staff follow-up and appraisal
- Preparing, managing and respecting the sector’s budget, ensuring resource monitoring
- Managing projects arising from municipal policy and the legislative programme, respecting quality, costs and deadlines
- Developing collaborations with other City services, schools, associations and youth network partners
- Promoting the sector’s services and representing the City, on behalf of the service, within professional or associative networks
- Contributing, in support of the head of service, to the preparation of reports, proposals and communications intended for authorities, and proposing improvement measures
- Occasionally participating in the sector’s field activities
- Supervising the use of premises and equipment, ensuring compliance with procedures and the legal framework
This position requires:
- Higher education degree (HES) in sociocultural animation or social work, or equivalent training
- Proven experience in team management, sociocultural animation and youth support
- Demonstrated skills in project management and mastery of participatory approaches
- Ability to mobilise a team, sense of responsibility and strong organisational skills
- Good listening skills, mediation ability and capacity to adapt to diversity and complex situations
- Autonomy, collaborative spirit, analytical and writing skills, proficiency in common IT tools and knowledge of basic accounting
- Clean ordinary and special criminal record extracts
This role involves irregular working hours, including mornings or afternoons, evenings, weekends, school holidays and/or public holidays.
Start date: 1 January 2027 or to be agreed.
Work rate: 60%, potentially increasing to 70% depending on needs and service organisation.
