Programming infrastructure instead of managing infrastructure: This position is aimed at engineers who want to take the next step towards platform engineering or who are already deeply involved in automated IT platforms. The focus is on Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, GitOps, and the development of robust self-service platforms for modern software teams.
Responsibilities:
Design and engineering of a scalable platform for modern applications
Development of automated infrastructure blueprints and standardised platform components
Implementation of Infrastructure as Code throughout the entire infrastructure lifecycle
Building modular Terraform or OpenTofu solutions
Operation and further development of Kubernetes platforms
Automation of container provisioning, deployments, and configurations
Establishment of GitOps workflows for reproducible infrastructure
Integration of CI/CD and deployment processes into the platform architecture
Development of developer self-service solutions and reusable platform services
Building central solutions for secrets, configurations, and access control
Implementation of observability with modern logging, monitoring, and tracing concepts
Optimisation of platforms for high availability, scalability, and operational reliability
Automation of updates, rollbacks, and recovery processes
Integration of security-by-design and DevSecOps into platform operations
Technical analysis of performance, network, and container issues
Definition of engineering standards and best practices
Close collaboration with software development, architecture, and security
Technical advancement of the platform based on new technologies and methods
Qualifications:
Several years of experience in system engineering, DevOps, or platform engineering
Very good Linux knowledge and experience operating complex infrastructure
Solid Kubernetes experience
Very good knowledge of Infrastructure as Code
Experience with Terraform, OpenTofu, or comparable IaC frameworks
Confident handling of Git and modern CI/CD concepts
Understanding of GitOps and declarative infrastructure models
Experience with Docker and containerised applications
Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud
Experience with Bash, Python, Go, or a comparable language
Understanding of modern network and security concepts
Interest in observability, SRE, and automated platform operations
Strong technical understanding and solution-oriented thinking
Enjoy simplifying complex technical processes through automation
High quality awareness and independent working style
