Modern digital platforms require specialists who do not view Linux, containers, automation, and security in isolation but combine them into stable and scalable operating models. We are looking for a technically skilled individual who actively develops platforms further, drives automation, and transfers modern engineering principles into operations.
Responsibilities:
Responsibility for the stable operation and continuous development of container-based platforms
Administration and optimisation of Linux systems, Docker environments, and central platform services
Support of technical components such as web servers, DNS, TLS, databases, mail services, and backup systems
Operation and further development of modern web and specialist applications in various deployment scenarios
Support of CMS, publishing, and survey platforms including integrations, plugins, and single sign-on
Building and optimisation of automated CI/CD pipelines for build, testing, and deployment
Use of GitHub Actions and modern DevOps principles to reduce manual operational efforts
Further development of container and Kubernetes platforms
Building powerful monitoring, logging, and observability solutions
Improvement of availability, performance, scalability, and resilience of platforms
Implementation of modern identity and access management concepts
Securing applications and infrastructures through SSO, permission models, patch management, and backup strategies
Further development of reverse proxy, load balancing, and web security concepts
Evaluation and integration of new open-source technologies
Automation of recurring operational processes with infrastructure as code and scripting
Creation of technical architecture, operational, and system documentation
Collaboration in cross-departmental technology and transformation projects
Qualifications:
Several years of professional experience in platform engineering, DevOps, system engineering, or software infrastructure
Solid practical experience with Linux and containerised environments
Very good knowledge of Docker and modern deployment concepts
Experience with CI/CD, GitHub Actions, or comparable automation platforms
Good knowledge of web servers, DNS, TLS, databases, load balancing, and backup concepts
Experience with Kubernetes, monitoring, logging, or observability
Understanding of modern security concepts such as SSO, IAM, Zero Trust, and least privilege
Ideally knowledge of reverse proxies, web application firewalls, and highly available system architectures
Experience with Microsoft Azure, Entra ID, Intune, or Microsoft 365 is an advantage
Interest in open source, cloud technologies, and automation
Analytical thinking and enjoyment of challenging technical problems
Willingness to take long-term responsibility for platforms
Education or degree in computer science, software engineering, systems engineering, or a comparable field
