Software quality, automation and stable releases belong together in this role. The position is aimed at an experienced leader who understands testing as a strategic component of software development while ensuring operational excellence in release management.
Responsibilities:
Responsibility for the entire quality assurance within a complex application landscape
Development of a scalable test organisation with clear methods, roles and quality standards
Establishment of a risk-based testing approach for new features, releases and system changes
Planning and management of multi-stage test cycles including integration, regression and acceptance tests
Definition of quality criteria and automated quality gates
Expansion of automated tests to reduce manual testing efforts and accelerate release cycles
Design of a continuous testing strategy as part of modern DevOps processes
Conceptualisation and further development of stable test environments together with system engineering
Investigation of defects, performance issues and recurring error causes
Prioritisation and tracking of quality risks and critical findings
Management of the release lifecycle including planning, validation, documentation and approval
Coordination of the technical provision of software versions for different test phases
Ensuring traceable release processes and standardised approval procedures
Creation of release notes, technical change information and operational documentation
Monitoring new technologies and integrating suitable AI and automation solutions in testing and release management
Further development of existing QA and release processes based on metrics and continuous improvement
Leadership, coaching and development of employees within the area of responsibility
Forward-looking resource and deployment planning for testing and release activities
Qualifications:
Many years of professional experience in software testing, quality engineering or test management
Proven experience in leading or technically managing QA teams
ISTQB Foundation Level or comparable solid test training
Knowledge of test strategy, test planning, defect management and release processes
Experience with automated testing methods and modern QA techniques
Understanding of agile development models and DevOps principles
Experience with ERP systems and integrated enterprise applications
Good knowledge of business processes, especially in the financial sector
Understanding of interfaces, system integration and complex data flows
Strong analytical skills and high quality orientation
Structured, independent and pragmatic working style
Strong communication skills and ability to engage different stakeholders for quality goals
Assertiveness combined with team orientation and strong solution focus
ISTQB Advanced Level Test Manager or Test Analyst is an advantage
Technical understanding of infrastructure, networks and operating systems is an advantage
