Modern IT infrastructures demand more than reliable operation: automation, secure identities, and intelligent platform architectures form the basis of powerful digital services. We are looking for an experienced systems engineer who approaches technical challenges holistically, modernises existing environments, and achieves sustainable improvements through well-thought-out engineering solutions.
Responsibilities:
Engineering and further development of hybrid IT platforms across server, virtualisation, storage, and backup technologies
Modernisation of existing infrastructure components and establishment of standardised, reproducible operational processes
Implementation of security-by-design principles in system configuration, endpoint hardening, and vulnerability management
Further development of central identity and access management structures with Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID
Building and optimisation of modern client management processes with Microsoft Intune and complementary management solutions
Automation of recurring infrastructure tasks through PowerShell, scripting, and infrastructure-as-code approaches
Improvement of system transparency through monitoring, central logging, and structured error analysis
Integration of public cloud services and network components into existing corporate platforms
Support in secure certificate management, PKI processes, and integration of protected system connections
Ensuring a controlled system lifecycle through patch management, release planning, and technical standardisation
Collaboration with network, cloud, and security specialists in implementing cross-infrastructure projects
Technical support of highly available operating environments where fault tolerance and precise processes are crucial
Qualifications:
Several years of experience in IT infrastructure engineering, system engineering, or platform engineering
Solid knowledge of Windows server environments, Active Directory, Group Policy, and central identity services
Experience with Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, and modern endpoint management concepts
Practical experience with VMware or comparable virtualisation platforms as well as hybrid IT architectures
Knowledge of IT security, endpoint hardening, vulnerability management, and secure system configuration
Experience with infrastructure maintenance, system updates, configuration standards, and technical lifecycle processes
Understanding of PKI, certificate management, and secure communication connections
Basic knowledge of databases, network technologies, and cloud services
Experience with PowerShell, Python, or comparable scripting languages and interest in infrastructure as code
Ideally, knowledge of monitoring and observability solutions, centralised logging, or ServiceNow
Ability to systematically analyse complex faults and develop sustainable technical solutions
Independent working style, strong security awareness, and enthusiasm for continuous improvement of technical platforms
