The Operations service manages and operates the real estate infrastructure and user services at EPFL. It is composed of around 80 collaborators active in HVAC techniques, Building Maintenance as well as concierge and caretaking services.
Your tasks and responsibilities as a waste site collaborator:
Main tasks
- Collection of AI / SV EcoPoints
- Management of SG / BP / AAx containers
- Collection of specific containers and sorting cabinets
- "Goupil" collection - common waste
- Monitoring, handling and cleaning of the central waste site
- Duty at the central waste site
- Assistance with complex handling, done by at least 2 people
- Support for the waste manager's administrative tasks
- Continuous training in the field of activities
Periodic tasks
- Support in waste site management
- Decision analytics (understanding annual reporting, calculating recycling rates)
- Management of special waste (basic: 1 day of COSEDEC / Cridec training)
- Support for exceptional activities (students, sections, workshops etc.)
- Third-party communications: remettant.ex, contractors and colleagues (English level 2)
- Sharing the "circularity in open community space" strategy
- Replacement of the waste site manager or caretaker
- Knowledge of the waste treatment sector
- Strong social and communication skills to interact effectively internally and externally
- Strong sense of service, cross-functional collaboration, ability to find solutions and manage multiple priorities under pressure with a range of stakeholders
- Excellent organisational skills, logical mind, rigorous and methodical
- Good command of French; English level B1, an asset
