Cloud, automation, security, and AI are fundamentally changing modern IT operations. This position is aimed at experienced engineers who combine classic infrastructure with cloud-native technologies and are keen to not only operate platforms but consistently modernise them. Particularly exciting for professionals with a broad technical horizon and an interest in architecture, automation, and innovation.
Responsibilities:
Design and further development of a modern, hybrid IT platform
Integration of classic infrastructure components with cloud-native technologies
Establishment of stable and automated operational processes for digital applications
Development of standardised deployment and release processes
Automation of infrastructure and application operations using modern DevOps methods
Further development of Docker- and Kubernetes-based platform architectures
Building a central observability landscape for logs, metrics, and system states
Optimisation of availability, performance, and operational security
Support of critical basic services around web, network, DNS, certificates, databases, and backup
Technical responsibility for selected web and business applications
Development of standardised interfaces and integrations for authentication and identity management
Further development of SSO and authorisation concepts
Implementation of security-by-design and least-privilege principles
Automation of patch, backup, and recovery processes
Evaluation of new technologies with a focus on technical added value and sustainable operation
Collaboration on cloud and infrastructure projects
Taking on technical sub-projects and architectural tasks
Documentation of platforms, standards, and operating models
Qualifications:
Several years of experience in DevOps, platform engineering, cloud engineering, or system engineering
Very good knowledge of Linux-based platforms and container technologies
Solid experience with Docker and ideally Kubernetes
Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated software releases
Experience with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or comparable tools
Very good understanding of web infrastructures, DNS, TLS, databases, and backup systems
Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure
Knowledge of Entra ID, Microsoft 365, and Intune is a plus
Understanding of modern cyber-security concepts and identity management
Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability
Ideally practical experience with reverse proxy, load balancing, WAF, or zero-trust architectures
Interest in Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, automation, and cloud-native engineering
Ability to understand technical contexts across multiple infrastructure and application layers
Independent, structured working style with a high quality standard
Education in computer science, degree, or comparable technical background
