Embedded DevOps Engineer (m/f/d)

Embedded software meets modern platform technology: We are looking for an engineering specialist who combines classic build systems with modern DevOps automation, thereby creating the foundation for fast, secure, and reproducible software releases.
Responsibilities:
Design of a powerful build and delivery platform for embedded software
Automation of the entire software lifecycle from source code to finished target image
Development of robust CI/CD workflows for complex C++ projects
Standardisation of development, build, and test environments across various platforms
Establishment of reproducible toolchains for developers, CI runners, and embedded targets
Development of intelligent automations for build, packaging, testing, and deployment
Further development of dependency and package management for C++ components
Containerisation of build and test environments to reduce dependencies and configuration errors
Automated creation of embedded Linux system images
Integration of hardware-near tests and system tests into automated quality processes
Establishment of transparent release and artefact management
Improvement of build times, pipeline stability, and feedback cycles for developers
Introduction of modern engineering principles such as shift left, continuous testing, and everything as code
Identification of technical weaknesses within the toolchain and development of sustainable solutions
Documentation and standardisation of platform architecture, workflows, and engineering conventions
Qualifications:
Technical education, degree, or comparable practical background in computer science, software engineering, or systems engineering
Professional experience in DevOps, build engineering, embedded software infrastructure, or CI/CD
Confident handling of Linux and Git
Experience with C++ development environments and automated build processes
Knowledge of at least one automation language such as Bash or Python
Experience with Docker, Podman, or comparable container technologies
Understanding of dependency management and reproducible software builds
Experience with automated software testing
Ideally, exposure to embedded Linux, Buildroot, or comparable build systems
Analytical thinking and enthusiasm for optimising complex technical processes
High standards for quality, automation, and technical sustainability
Ability to document technical concepts clearly and develop them further with developers
