Role:
You build an Azure Landing Zone and consistently develop it further – with a clear focus on governance, networking, identity and security baselines. As a Senior Platform Engineer, you are responsible for the container platform, migrate existing workloads to Azure-native Kubernetes services and ensure standardised, automated deployment through modular Terraform frameworks and GitHub-based CI/CD pipelines. You ensure end-to-end observability, establish security-by-design with secrets management, network segmentation and role-based access models, and advise specialist and development teams on integration, governance and scaling. You work closely with development teams as part of a platform team and document operational processes and architectural decisions comprehensibly.

You migrate and modernise existing applications to Azure-native container services and operate the container platform including resource management, network configuration, scaling and troubleshooting
You further develop a modular Terraform framework as the central basis for provisioning and maintaining all cloud resources

You ensure observability, integrate suitable tools for metrics, logs and traces and build meaningful dashboards and alerts
Additionally, you support specialist and development teams with appropriate cloud infrastructure, promote a security-by-design culture and document operational processes and architectural decisions
Qualifications:
You have a university degree in computer science, systems engineering or a comparable field with a focus on infrastructure or distributed systems
You have at least 5 years of professional experience as a DevOps or Cloud Platform Engineer in an operational role
You have very good Terraform skills including module development, state management, workspaces and testing as well as solid Azure experience (architecture, core services, networking, IAM, monitoring)
You operate Kubernetes clusters securely including resource management, troubleshooting and Helm and are proficient with GitHub and GitHub Actions
You are familiar with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana or OpenTelemetry; knowledge of Azure governance services, scaled agile frameworks, certifications and scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell) is an advantage
You take responsibility for running systems with regard to service level objectives and structured incident follow-up and communicate very well in German and English
