The Academic Office department is responsible for fostering an environment of academic excellence and integrity across the EHL Group. Its mission includes overseeing academic governance, ensuring compliance and accreditation, managing faculty affairs and development, supporting thought leadership and research strategy, and maintaining institutional relations with academic authorities. Through these responsibilities, the Academic Office strives to build a dynamic and supportive academic ecosystem that empowers students, faculty, and researchers to reach their highest potential.

The mission of the Associate Dean for Research and Thought Leadership is to drive research excellence at EHL, supporting the Chief Academic Officer in advancing EHL HBS as a global leader in hospitality and service management research. This role strengthens research capacity, mentors faculty, secures funding, and builds partnerships across academia, industry, and government. It also shapes and executes EHL HBS’s thought leadership strategy, enhancing its academic reputation and influence. The Associate Dean holds a permanent faculty position at associate or full professor rank and remains an active faculty member.
What will you do?
- Define Research Strategy : develop and implement EHL’s research roadmap aligned with institutional goals and thought leadership priorities.
- Lead Advisory & Governance : Chair the Research Advisory Board and drive continuous improvement in research quality and excellence.
- Advance Thought Leadership : Shape and execute EHL’s thought leadership strategy, act as an academic ambassador, and promote faculty research visibility.
- Grow Research Capacity : Mentor faculty, early-career researchers, and doctoral students; establish systems for professional development and success.
- Secure Funding : Support competitive research funding acquisition from national, international, and private sources.
- Foster Partnerships : Build interdisciplinary collaborations internally and externally with academic, industry, and government networks.
- Ensure Research Integrity : Uphold ethics, integrity, and data management standards; support high-impact publications and citation growth.
- Manage Research Operations : Lead research support teams, oversee faculty recruitment and allocation, and monitor research performance and development.
Who you are?
- You have a PhD in management and/or hospitality-related fields.
- You have at least 10 years of experience in similar academic leadership roles.
- You have strategic and operational leadership experience.
- You have experience managing teams.
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills in both academic and public-facing formats.
- You have the capacity to drive innovation, research excellence, and thought leadership.
- You are familiar with the Swiss research and higher education environment.
- You have a strong international academic and industry network.
- You already hold the rank of Associate or Full Professor in a higher education institution in management and/or hospitality.
- You are fluent in French and English (C2).
