Objective:

The post holder ensures the long-term increase in land availability for business settlements in the Canton of Aargau. By further developing economic policy instruments, leading networks, and strategically shaping workplace areas, the canton’s competitiveness is sustainably enhanced.


Exciting tasks await:

• Topic lead for the processing and further development of the strategically important task area "Sites and Land" in location promotion; actively initiating developments on land with economic potential with regard to their development capability and building readiness
• Project collaboration in interdepartmental initiatives on topics such as increasing land availability or strategic land acquisition; further development of economic policy instruments to secure and develop the supply of workspaces, in close cooperation with spatial and infrastructure development
• Knowledge exchange with project managers in the area of business contacts and regional location promotions regarding available workspaces for companies newly settling or requiring a new location in Aargau
• Bringing the economic perspective into the development of new and existing workplace areas; cooperation with landowners, municipalities, companies and site developers
• Monitoring and classification of market and land developments; independent maintenance of strategic contact with landowners and the real estate network; consolidating, evaluating and addressing findings within the administration
• Preparing analyses, reports and presentations for cantonal committees, external events and specialist publications
• Maintaining and evaluating spatial and location-related data sets for decision-making

What you bring:

• Completed studies (university/FH) preferably in business administration, real estate management, or (economic) geography; ideally a combination of strong economic affinity and spatial understanding (expertise in spatial planning)
• Professional experience in leading interdisciplinary projects and dealing with issues at the interface of economy, location, land development, real estate or spatial planning
• Connected, proactive and implementation-strong personality with enthusiasm for operational and conceptual work – hands-on mentality
• High analytical and problem-solving skills as well as strategic thinking
• Interest in political processes and the functioning of public institutions
