Judicial Bailiff of a Justice of the Peace

Attached to the Vaud Judicial Order, the nine justices of the peace in the canton rule in first instance in civil matters. They are also authorities for the protection of adults and children.

To complete the existing team, the Justice of the Peace of the Jura-Nord Vaudois and Gros-de-Vaud districts, which employs nearly 50 magistrates and collaborators, is looking for a judicial bailiff.

• Manage court hearing services and welcome litigants.
• Collect advances on legal costs and reimburse witnesses.
• Assist magistrates during hearings and ensure security.
• Carry out forced executions and inventories in collaboration with various stakeholders (property managers, police officers, locksmiths, removers).
• Serve summons notifications.
• Ensure the sealing of premises.
• On delegation from the judge, establish urgent reports.
• Manage internal and external postal mail.
• Handle the circulation of files.
• Contribute to the management of office equipment and materials.

• Federal Certificate of Vocational Education and Training (CFC) as a commercial employee, or any equivalent qualification, complemented by 3 years of professional experience.
• Good communication skills and ability to handle difficult situations.
• Good presentation; wearing a uniform is required during duties.
• Organisational skills, initiative, flexibility, autonomy, stress resistance and good writing skills are desired.
• Driving licence with private vehicle mandatory.

As part of the recruitment process, candidates will be required to present an extract from the debt collection register and a criminal record less than 3 months old.
