Role:
You take responsibility for a demanding storage and backup landscape and advance it technically. As an Infrastructure Engineer Storage & Backup, you work with Pure Storage and NetApp and combine operations with conceptual work. Outages, migrations, and capacity bottlenecks are not disruptions for you. They are challenges that you solve with experience and analytical strength. The integrity of the secured data is always at the centre.
Responsibilities:
You develop backup and recovery concepts including retention rules and ensure the recoverability of physical and virtual systems.
You set up and operate storage services such as snapshots, NDMP, NFS, replication, and object storage via S3.
You administer immutable storage concepts with WORM mechanisms and optimise disaster recovery processes (DR).
Additionally, you connect systems to virtualisation platforms such as KVM and VMware vSphere and operate tape libraries and SAN components.
You implement hardware replacements and storage migrations, systematically investigate root causes of errors, and resolve bottlenecks in performance and utilisation.
Furthermore, you drive alerting, monitoring, and proactive capacity planning forward.
Qualifications:
You have at least three years of practical experience in infrastructure, backup, or storage engineering.
You are proficient with enterprise storage systems. Experience with Pure Storage and NetApp is a clear advantage.
You are familiar with object, NAS, and SAN architectures as well as LUNs, volumes, and storage provisioning.
Moreover, you know how immutable backups and replication protect data from loss and manipulation.
You feel at home in KVM or VMware environments and are familiar with tape libraries.
Additionally, you work in a structured and responsible manner and reliably find solutions even in complex fault situations.
