To support a major development project, we are looking for an Industrial Software Engineer – HMI & Applications.

Your mission

You will work within the design office in Bex, as part of a mechatronics project team, from feasibility to market launch. You will contribute to the development of new products by designing technical solutions with the help of our experts in mechanics, electronics and software.

You

With higher education in computer science, industrial systems or a related field, you have proven experience in software development, ideally in an industrial, embedded or machine-related context. You master the design of robust and maintainable applications and are comfortable with client/server architectures, communications with industrial equipment and Linux and Windows environments. Rigorous about cybersecurity and software quality, you enjoy working on prototypes, exploring new technical approaches and contributing to innovative solutions within a multidisciplinary team. Experience in developing human-machine interfaces (HMI), supervision systems or control applications is a significant advantage. Knowledge of industrial automation, Beckhoff/TwinCAT PLCs or industrial protocols is a plus but not necessarily essential.

Your responsibilities

• Participate in the development of a new product in close collaboration with the project team, from the prototype phase to the first industrialisable version.
• Design, develop and maintain reusable software components and libraries for HMI applications and the company’s various products.
• Develop modern human-machine interfaces to control, configure and diagnose equipment.
• Develop application services necessary for communication between the HMI, PLCs, field equipment and external systems.
• Participate in defining the overall software architecture of the machine, ensuring integration between the HMI, application services and the control system (TwinCAT 3, EtherCAT, IO-Link, etc.).
• Collaborate with automation engineers for the integration of the HMI and software applications with Beckhoff/TwinCAT 3 PLCs.
• Develop backend components and services necessary for collecting, processing and exchanging machine data.
• Participate in defining the ergonomics and architecture of HMI applications in collaboration with project teams.
• Main technologies: C#, .NET, Blazor, JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, Java, Linux, Git, CI/CD and industrial communication protocols.
• Communication with industrial equipment may rely on ADS, OPC UA, MQTT, TCP/IP or internal protocols.
• Participate in defining software specifications in connection with the R&D, mechanical and electronic teams.
• Perform unit tests, system integration tests and functional validation of the prototype.
• Document modules, architectures and technical decisions to ensure the longevity of developed libraries.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of tools, methods and best development practices (Git, CI/CD, test automation).

Profile sought

• Higher education in computer science, industrial systems, automation or an equivalent field (Bachelor HES or ES diploma highly appreciated).
• Very good command of at least one modern software development environment, ideally C#/.NET. Experience with Blazor, Java, Node.js or modern web technologies is an advantage.
• Experience in developing user interfaces, desktop/web applications, HMI or supervision systems.
• Good understanding of client/server architectures, REST APIs and communication mechanisms between applications and industrial equipment.
• Knowledge of Beckhoff/TwinCAT 3, ADS, EtherCAT, IO-Link or industrial protocols is an advantage.
• Familiarity with modern software development practices: Git, branching workflows, CI/CD, automated tests, UML diagrams.
• Technical curiosity, willingness to learn and desire to work on modern technologies and innovative products.
• Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team (software, mechanics, electronics).
• Fluent French; operational technical English (min. B2).
