Azure Infrastructure Engineer (m/f/d)

Do you want to technically advance demanding customer environments rather than just processing tickets? This position is aimed at experienced infrastructure engineers with a strong Microsoft focus who connect Azure, Microsoft 365, security, and classic infrastructure to modern IT services. Ideal for personalities with high technical standards and enjoyment of varied customer projects.
Responsibilities:
Engineering and operation of modern Azure and Microsoft infrastructures
Building, configuring, and optimising Azure resources and managed services
Support of hybrid IT landscapes with on-premises and cloud components
Technical responsibility for Windows servers, clients, and Microsoft cloud services
Handling complex incidents and service requests at various support levels
Conducting structured root cause analyses
Developing sustainable solutions instead of short-term workarounds
Monitoring critical systems and early detection of performance or availability issues
Optimising cloud resources regarding performance, stability, and operating costs
Administration of Microsoft 365 and identity platforms
Further development of Entra ID, permission models, and access concepts
Support and securing of endpoints, servers, and network components
Participation in the implementation of security-by-design and zero-trust principles
Administration of firewalls, endpoint security, and other protection mechanisms
Integration of storage, network, and virtualisation solutions
Development of PowerShell automations for standardised operational processes
Accompanying cloud migrations and technical modernisations
Technical implementation of customer projects from conception to productive introduction
Creation and maintenance of technical standards, runbooks, and knowledge databases
Consulting technical contacts on architecture and infrastructure issues
Qualifications:
Several years of experience in system engineering, cloud engineering, or managed services
Solid Microsoft knowledge at client, server, and cloud level
Very good practical experience with Azure and Microsoft 365
Experience with Azure compute, storage, networking, and managed services
Good knowledge of Entra ID and hybrid identity scenarios
Experience with Windows Server and Active Directory
Good knowledge of networking, virtualisation, and storage
Practical experience in cyber security, endpoint protection, and firewall technologies
Experience with Sophos or comparable security products is an advantage
Good PowerShell skills and interest in automation
Microsoft certifications such as AZ-104 or MS-102 are a plus
Analytical and systematic approach to technical faults
High personal responsibility and strong customer orientation
Strong communication skills and enjoyment of technical exchange
Ability to prioritise even with multiple parallel topics
IT education or comparable technical background
