IT Data Analysis Intern - 6 to 12 months
As an intern in Data & Artificial Intelligence applied to the Contact Centre, you will design and prototype a solution capable of automatically detecting emerging signals, anomalies or potential incidents from conversations. This internship is aimed at a trainee wishing to gain practical experience in data analysis and artificial intelligence.
What you do daily
You collect, structure and prepare data from the Contact Centre in Microsoft Fabric to establish a reliable foundation for analysis. You use NLP and generative AI techniques to automatically classify contact reasons and identify emerging topics.
You build baselines by topic, period and channel to characterise usual behaviours. You then develop anomaly detection methods to identify unusual volume variations, the emergence of new topics and, when data is available, correlate them with IT events or incidents.
You design a scoring and alert mechanism to prioritise detected signals and limit false positives. You also create a monitoring prototype highlighting trends, anomalies and alerts, then evaluate its performance on historical events to measure the relevance, accuracy and speed of detection of the solution.
What you bring to the team
A student at EPFL in Data Science, Computer Science, Communication Systems or an equivalent course, you have solid foundations in Python and SQL programming as well as data analysis. You are interested in modern Data architectures, applied artificial intelligence and operational issues. You are looking for an internship allowing you to validate your degree by obtaining ECTS credits.
You have knowledge in Machine Learning, time series analysis and/or anomaly detection. You are also comfortable with concepts of NLP, embeddings, clustering or language models (LLM), and you know how to experiment with different approaches, compare their results and evaluate their performance using appropriate metrics.
Curious and results-oriented, you want to gain practical experience in designing an end-to-end AI use case, from data preparation to generating operational alerts. Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Spark/PySpark or Azure is an asset, but not essential.
Your benefits
- 40 hours per week for a 100% position
- Flexible working hours
- Collaborative, egalitarian and respectful work environment for all
- Internal professional training
