Cloud Data Engineer (m/f/d)
Responsibilities:
Develop, implement and continuously improve modern and scalable data solutions in the cloud
Design and implement end-to-end data architectures, especially modern data lakehouse and analytics architectures
Migrate existing data warehouse solutions to a modern Microsoft Cloud Analytics platform and support their further development
Develop ETL/ELT pipelines as well as automated monitoring and quality assurance solutions for data and data infrastructures
Ensure data quality, consistency, security and governance and technically implement data protection and compliance requirements
Scale, optimise and continuously improve data processing and storage for large data volumes in terms of performance and efficiency
Define technical requirements, architectures, security concepts and test strategies for modern data products
Work closely as a technical sparring partner with business units, IT and other stakeholders to drive data-driven solutions
Qualifications:
Completed studies in computer science, data engineering or a comparable technical field (ETH/University/FH) or an equivalent qualification
Several years of practical experience in data engineering, especially in building, operating and automating data warehouse and data platforms
Solid knowledge in ETL/ELT, data warehousing and data modelling; experience with the Oracle stack is an advantage
Practical experience with cloud computing, data storage, data processing and data governance, ideally with Microsoft Fabric
Experience in developing and operating data pipelines, monitoring and automation solutions as well as handling large data volumes
Knowledge of data protection, compliance and regulatory requirements in the insurance or healthcare sector is an advantage
Analytical, structured and solution-oriented working style with holistic thinking, high personal responsibility and strong communication skills
Openness to new technologies and perspectives as well as enjoyment in collaborating with business units, IT and other stakeholders
