Senior Engineer Kubernetes & Linux Infrastructure (m/f/d)
Responsibilities:
Architecture and technical management of highly available platforms for continuous operation, based on Linux (RHEL/SLES) and Kubernetes with SUSE Rancher/RKE2.
Establishment of binding automation and delivery standards with Ansible/AWX, Infrastructure as Code, Forgejo and CI/CD; including technical support of playbooks, roles and collections.
Ensuring platform security through appropriate concepts for OS hardening, vulnerability management, certificates, secrets and privileged accounts as well as accompanying complex lifecycle measures.
Handling demanding 3rd-level incidents, participation in major incidents and involvement in the 7x24 on-call service.
Technical advice to engineers as well as application and development teams; evaluation of new technologies and co-design of the future platform roadmap.
Qualifications:
Solid several years of professional experience in Linux, Kubernetes, DevOps or platform engineering, especially in complex and business-critical infrastructure environments.
Comprehensive knowledge of RHEL/SLES, Kubernetes, Ansible/AWX and CI/CD; practical experience with Rancher/RKE2 is ideal.
Experience in architecture, infrastructure as code, standardisation and automation as well as in the technical management of updates, upgrades, migrations and releases.
Good knowledge of security, networking, DNS, load balancing and firewalls and the ability to independently take on technical platform responsibility.
German written and spoken fluently (C2) and English at least B2; French B1, ITIL and certifications in Kubernetes, Linux, cloud or open source are advantageous.
