Role:
You think in Layer 2 and Layer 3 structures while keeping the entire workplace in view. As a Network Engineer Windows & Citrix, you accompany customer projects from the initial needs analysis to the well-documented handover. The focus is on high-performance networks, virtualised Windows Server environments, and application delivery via Citrix. Technical depth counts more than presentation slides here, and that is exactly your strength.
Responsibilities:
You gather requirements from customers and derive reliable infrastructure concepts from them
You plan switching topologies with Spanning Tree, Link Aggregation, and inter-VLAN routing for wired networks and wireless LAN (WLAN)
You implement site-to-site and remote-access VPNs as well as DHCP, DNS, and QoS configurations
You evaluate, procure, and install clients, servers, and active network components
Furthermore, you provide applications via Remote Desktop Services (RDS) and Citrix
You also ensure monitoring, maintenance, and structured troubleshooting, if necessary with packet analysis in Wireshark
Qualifications:
A completed basic IT education forms your foundation, preferably supplemented by a qualification as a technician HF/TS
Manufacturer certificates from Microsoft or Citrix give you an advantage
You work confidently with Windows Server from version 2016 and current Windows clients
You master TCP/IP in detail, as subnetting, IPv4 address planning, NAT, and dynamic routing protocols such as OSPF are part of your toolkit
Additionally, you have practical experience in server virtualisation with Hyper-V or VMware, ideally also with Exchange and SQL Server
You also understand mobile device technologies, communicate clearly and confidently in German, and read English manufacturer documentation effortlessly
