About the job
The Baumer Group is an internationally leading manufacturer of sensors and measuring instruments for factory and process automation. We owe this success to our approximately 2,800 employees worldwide, who are always passionately, expertly, and committedly searching for the best solutions for our customers.
The headquarters in Frauenfeld (Thurgau) sets the pace for the globally sought-after Baumer sensor solutions. Around 700 employees from engineering, product management, manufacturing, logistics, sales, and services work closely together here: engineers continuously develop new solutions, while the production and logistics teams ensure that the sensors arrive at customers on time and in Baumer quality.
We bring the world into motion with our sensors – you move people, projects, and customers. In our Product Center Motion Control, we develop sensor solutions that are used worldwide in demanding applications. To further expand our growth targets, I am looking for a committed individual who recognises market opportunities, supports our sales units, and actively shapes the success of our product groups as a Business Development Manager. I am looking for a doer who finds opportunities and, front-facing, jointly with our sales companies, unlocks new potentials. Peter Grollmann, Head Product Center Motion Control
What I drive
- You are the first point of contact for our global sales units – for both technical and commercial questions.
- You develop international growth initiatives and accompany their implementation in the markets.
- You collect and consolidate market feedback – thereby laying the foundation for the strategic further development of our portfolio.
- You coordinate interdisciplinary sales projects and lead them to success together with various stakeholders.
- You support local sales teams at customer appointments, trade fairs, and training sessions – thereby strengthening our market presence worldwide.
- You ensure with a pragmatic solution focus that our sales units act successfully and secure competitive advantages.
What it takes
- A completed degree in mechatronics, electrical engineering, or a comparable qualification – ideally complemented by business management training.
- Several years of professional experience in an international environment, including at least two years as a technical sales engineer or product manager.
- An independent, responsible working style – combined with flexibility and a strong customer orientation.
- An open, convincing personality with intercultural competence, team spirit, professional appearance, and willingness to travel.
With us, collaboration takes place where ideas are born: together on site. We are convinced that good leadership, team spirit, and quick decisions work best when people can exchange personally. Therefore, we deliberately rely on 100% work on site – for close collaboration, short distances, and a lively corporate culture. In exceptional cases (e.g., a visit from a craftsman, doctor’s appointment, official business, etc.), it is of course possible to work from home occasionally.
