We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Design Engineer - Product Care (m/f/d) to join an international production and engineering team in Zizers, Switzerland. In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining and enhancing existing product lines, driving engineering change processes, and resolving technical challenges in serial production.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

• Engineering Change Management: Process, evaluate, and implement engineering change requests (ECR/ECO) for active product lines.

• Documentation & Specifications: Create, update, and maintain detailed technical drawings, CAD models, and component/product specifications.

• Verification & Testing: Define, oversee, and execute qualification and verification tests for modified mechanical parts and assemblies.

• Serial Production Support: Analyze technical issues occurring in serial production, conduct root cause analyses, and implement effective corrective actions in close collaboration with cross-functional teams.

• Supplier & Second Source Qualification: Technical evaluation and qualification of alternative suppliers and second-source components to ensure supply chain resilience.

• Technology & Transfer Support: Provide technical guidance during technology updates, material transitions, and supplier transfers.
  
   

What You Bring (Must-Haves)

• Educational Background: Completed technical vocational training with further education/degree (HF/FH level) specializing in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.

• Product Care Experience: Several years of practical experience in product development or mechanical product care/sustained engineering, ideally in high-precision equipment or regulated environments.

• CAD Proficiency: Strong CAD skills, with hands-on experience using tools such as SolidWorks.

• Problem-Solving & Mindset: Solution-oriented, hands-on mentality with an enthusiasm for creative technical solutions and continuous product improvement.

• Communication & Language Skills: Proactive, independent worker with excellent teamwork skills and strong proficiency in both German and English (spoken and written).
  
   

Desirable Skills (Nice-to-Haves)

• Background in plastic design, injection molding, or small-mechanism mechatronics.

• Experience working closely with production, quality management, and external suppliers.

• Understanding of manufacturing processes, material selection, and tolerance stack-up analysis.
