We operate and maintain a portfolio of more than 40 hydropower plants. Their installed capacity corresponds to approximately 22% of the hydropower capacity available in Switzerland (25% including the pumping stations). Together, the plants we operate generate about 16% of Switzerland's hydropower electricity.

Mechanical Engineer (IWE/IWT) specialising in Welding Technology

Your mission :

Your tasks :

• Technical support for maintenance managers at various hydropower plants
• Development and implementation of technical solutions within major rehabilitation projects for hydropower plants in cooperation with various technical units
• Budgeting of work to be carried out, preparation of quotations, and technical support for sales
• Project management while adhering to cost, schedule, and quality requirements
• Organisation and coordination of assignments for external suppliers and internal teams (welders, inspectors) in close cooperation with the maintenance managers at various sites
• Updating and maintaining the technical documentation of hydropower plants based on study and final reports
• Execution and supervision of production monitoring and component acceptance at suppliers and in our own workshops
• Participation in coordinating welding work in our workshops in Martigny (DMOS/QMOS/QS) as well as at deployment sites
• Analysis and review of suppliers’ technical documentation, especially welding documentation

Your skills :

• Diploma as an ETH or FH engineer in mechanical engineering (or equivalent)
• IWE or IWT certification
• At least 5 years of professional experience in industry; at least 3 years of experience in hydropower is an advantage
• Experience in welding technology (preparation of DMOS/WPS, verification of welding instructions, design of weldable constructions, production control, and conducting inspections)
• Knowledge and/or certifications in non-destructive testing (NDT), e.g. according to COFREND, are advantageous
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to coordinate multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
• Ability to work independently, analytical thinking, and strong competence in structuring and summarising complex matters
• Good editorial skills in technical documentation
• Native French or German speaker; good knowledge of the other language is an advantage
• Interest in on-site work and willingness to undertake regular day trips to our various hydropower plants (up to 30% of working time)
