As Assistant for Student Relations, you support the Delegate for Student Relations in managing activities, projects, and services aimed at encouraging student engagement and contributing to an inclusive and fulfilling study environment at EPFL. Acting as an interface between associations, Vice-Presidencies, academic and administrative units, as well as management, you play a key role in implementing institutional priorities related to campus life.
Combining strategic vision with a strong field orientation, you ensure the operational management of the unit, develop and deploy high-impact initiatives in collaboration with other services, and contribute to the prevention and management of sensitive situations. Through your cross-functional leadership, diplomatic skills, and ability to unite stakeholders with diverse interests, you translate institutional directions into concrete actions serving the student community, while contributing to EPFL's missions and reputation.
- Support the Delegate for Student Relations in defining, implementing, and monitoring strategic orientations.
- Manage sensitive and complex situations, support mediation processes, and facilitate dialogue between students, associations, academic units, and EPFL management.
- Coordinate and develop partnerships with Vice-Presidencies, notably the Vice-Presidency for Human Development, as well as with various School units involved in education and student experience.
- Design, develop, and implement concrete initiatives and projects aimed at fostering the well-being and engagement of the student community.
- Operational and financial management of the unit and supervision of the activities of the Office of Associative Affairs.
- Support and accompany student, associative, and extracurricular learning initiatives contributing to the development of campus life.
- MSc or PhD in a field related to EPFL's teaching and training missions;
- Proven professional experience in a complex academic environment and in-depth knowledge of issues related to education, campus life, and institutional relations;
- Demonstrated experience in managing cross-functional projects and implementing initiatives related to student experience and associative engagement;
- Significant experience in managing sensitive situations, mediation, crisis management, and seeking consensus among stakeholders with divergent interests on ethical and societal issues;
- Proven experience in operational and financial management of a unit or service;
- Unifying leadership, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, initiative, and the ability to transform strategic challenges into pragmatic and concrete solutions;
- Fluency in French and English; German is an asset.
