DevOps Platform Engineer (m/f/d)

In this technically demanding role, you are responsible for the operation and further development of a modern on-premises platform. You work with virtualisation, container technologies, Linux and Windows systems, as well as modern automation and monitoring solutions, actively shaping the infrastructure standards of the future.
Responsibilities:
Ensuring stable, secure, and high-performance operation of the on-premises platform
Monitoring the infrastructure as well as analysing and resolving faults in 2nd and 3rd level support
Operating and further developing virtualisation environments with VMware or comparable technologies
Operating and expanding modern container platforms with Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes
Planning and accompanying migrations, renewals, and lifecycle measures
Administration and further development of Windows server and Linux environments
Automating recurring operational tasks with PowerShell, Ansible/AWX, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines
Advancing the infrastructure towards Infrastructure as Code
Expanding monitoring and observability solutions including alerting and dashboards
Participating in infrastructure and platform projects
Ensuring up-to-date and comprehensible operational documentation
Collaborating with internal departments, IT teams, and external suppliers
Qualifications:
Completed education in computer science with further training at HF/FH level or comparable qualification
Several years of professional experience as an ICT system engineer, platform engineer, or in a comparable infrastructure role
Solid knowledge of virtualisation technologies such as VMware, Proxmox VE, or comparable solutions
Good knowledge of Windows Server and Linux
Experience with container technologies such as Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift, or Docker
Experience in automation with PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, or comparable tools
Understanding and interest in Infrastructure as Code and modern DevOps principles
Experience with monitoring and observability solutions is an advantage
Conscientious, structured, and forward-looking working style
Strong sense of responsibility and good communication skills
Very good German skills as well as understanding of Swiss German
